PLEASE NOTE: there is a black disc below the base of the statue, although it’s not visible; this is a spinner (“Lazy Susan”) that I use for the purpose of taking pictures; it adds about 3/8 to the overall height. It is not included with the item. This is the Big Sky Carvers BRUIN SLUMBER from the Marc Pierce Collection. Measures approximately 12 tall. It appears to be numbered A405 but there is no indication of the edition size. I bought this item from an online retailer in 2009. It comes with the box and packing materials as shown in the pictures. This item comes from a smoke-free, child-free home. It has been removed from the box and displayed on a rotating basis with other collectibles. When not displayed, it has been stored in a climate-controlled, sun-free environment. Prior to it being displayed, I have cleaned it with a soft brush to remove any dust and I’ve done the same before taking pictures for this listing. You may wish to do additional cleaning once you receive the item. The box is in very good condition but will show signs of being opened and handled, such as slight rips/tears and/or slight corner dings. There is a slight chip in the finish on the back of the sculpture please see the 7. I will add that charge to the invoice; please pay from that invoice. Striking large vintage ceramic bear sculpture with a wonderfully unusual Southwestern inspired design. The oversized rounded body, elongated muzzle, open sculptural legs and bold turquoise accents give this piece a distinctive presence that feels equal parts folk art and late 20th century studio pottery. Finished in a soft matte blush pink with contrasting turquoise details, including a raised element along the back and a geometric line motif along the body. The surface has a subtly textured, hand finished appearance that adds to its character. The piece is hollow and measures approximately 14″ long × 8″ tall, making it a substantial display piece for a shelf, console, Southwestern collection or eclectic interior. There appears to be a faint incised maker’s signature or mark near the lower edge, beginning with what appears to be a T. The remainder is difficult to decipher due to the textured finish, so the artist has not been attributed. Vintage condition with age related surface wear and a few small imperfections as shown in the photos. Please review all photos closely as they are part of the condition description. A fantastic statement piece with an abstract bear form and a truly unusual pink and turquoise color combination.
